Topics in review articles will only be accepted for publication when requested by the Editorial Committee. However, the authors can propose topics, indicating the purpose of such reviews and the sources of reference and the search methods that will be used. The Editorial Committee will evaluate any such proposal and determine whether it should be developed and/or included in the journal.

The review articles are detailed, selective and critical studies that examine the published literature and place it in some perspective. A review article is a document resulting from research, analysis, systematization and integration of the results of published and unpublished research in a scientific or technological field to take into account the advances and trends in R&D. They should meet the following characteristics.

 

Reviews should be between 12 and 20 pages. Content: they should have a Summary that emphasizes the importance of recent findings; an Introduction a section for Critical Analysis (presented under subtitles or in sections); Conclusions; and References, which includes at least 50 references, most of which are recent (that is, published in the last five years in the case of well-known topics). Schemes, figures and tables should also be included, energize the text and facilitate understanding. A review should integrate the compiled information and give a detailed explanation of the limitations and any inconsistencies found in the results of the published studies.

 

The Latin American Potato Journal is a peer-reviewed publication. The articles received are sent (without the names of the authors) to anonymous peer reviewers selected by the Editorial Committee. Their comments are sent to the authors so that they can make the corresponding modifications. The Editorial Committee makes the final decision to publish a particular article.
