Abstract
A scheme for the Andean potato weeil (Premnotrypes ssp) control is presented here and a literature revision is made, about biology, ecology, and control. A management program utilizing cultural practices is suggested based on cultural practices as follows: 1. Seed selection, to ensure that undamaged tubers will be used as seeds. 2. Soil cultivation, to avoid that larvae get intopupa stage. 3. Destruction of soil residues, to reduce weeds and infestation nucleus. 4. Diffuse light store, to promote larvae for leaving tubers and facilitate the greening and bettes sprouting of them. Dust with clay in the base is a good complement. 5. Field ditchs around the field, to prevent migration of adults through the potato fields. 6. Traps, to detect the adults before they reach the emergent plants. These practices are inexpensive and rather easy to apply.
